Hold on, please, just a bit longer!
Not entirely ready quite yet –
Just a few quick things to sort out here
Or you might not like what you get.
The planet’s just a bit rusty,
Peace needs a few little tweaks,
The economy’s back any time now,
I’m sure Congress will be done in weeks –
Our priorities aren’t quite agreed on,
Next thing on our list is good schools,
Health – and long life – we’ll get to,
We’ve almost got the Golden Rule –
But… if you insist on arriving
Before we’ve got all of this done,
We’ve a few quick things to sort out here –
Maybe you can work on one.
